FROM IDEA TO MAKING
MISTRI explores the space between an idea and its becoming.
We bring together independent producers, craftspeople and specialist makers across the UAE and India, connecting each project with the right materials, processes and expertise.
We work with artists, designers, architects, studios and creatives to turn concepts into art, objects, furniture and installations.
Each project becomes its own constellation of people, processes and possibilities, shaped by the character of the material, the knowledge of the maker and the place where it comes to life.
We move between these worlds — developing, experimenting, sourcing and producing — allowing the process of making to influence the work itself.
DESIGN THROUGH MAKING
We believe production is not simply the final step of design.
Material behaviour, craft techniques, fabrication processes and production constraints can all become part of the design process.
We work closely with makers throughout development, allowing ideas to evolve through testing, making and refinement.
A NETWORK OF MAKING
MISTRI works across the UAE and India through a curated network of craftspeople, fabricators and manufacturers.
Rather than following a fixed production model, each project is matched with the appropriate expertise and process.
This allows us to work across different materials, scales and methods of production while maintaining a considered relationship between design and making.

From early exploration and material studies to prototyping, fabrication and production, we work alongside these makers to develop the work and see it through.
